Georgia O'Keeffe had been painting flowers since 1918, but it wasn't until 1924 when she got married to Alfred Stieglitz She then started to paint the first of the magnified flowers she is most famous with. The tiny flower in a still life Fatin-Latour drew was the reason why she decided to draw a magnified perspective. She didn't enjoy the fact that many people didn't look at a flower as carefully as she did. She then decided to paint what she sees in a big way so everyone can be suprised and take time to look at it.
"I will make even busy New Yorkers take time to see what I see of" - Georgia O'Keeffe
One of the reasons why Georgia O'Keeffe painted skulls was because she
had an impression that they looked pleasant. She knew that could would be able to demonstrate some of the beauty through painting.
